My fitness journey started with Dewayne in 2013. I made a decision to get in the best shape of my life. A friend of mine suggested that I do a show and recommended that I talk to Dewayne. It was one of the best decisions I ever made…I haven’t looked back since!

He has pushed me and challenged me beyond limits I didn’t even think were possible, and believed more in me than I did myself. He is a true professional! My journey to fit started after my third pregnancy. I was determined to get in the best shape of my life.

I started out at 173 pounds 2 months after my 3rd daughter. I woke up everyday and made the decision to do better. Their were nights where I cried because I was discouraged about not seeing results right away. I realized that it didn’t take 2 weeks to put on all the weight, so it would take some time to get off and I just had to stay the course. My husband was my biggest fan. He saw my success before it happened. I started to see weight loss and stayed disciplined.

My husband introduced me to Dewayne in March. That’s when my life changed. Literally… We decided to train for our first show together. I wanted to see how much my body could change and boy was it beyond what I ever imagined! I was already lifting, but Dewayne taught me how to connect the mind and muscle. It made a huge difference in my workouts. I was also completely lost on nutrition. I thought I was doing it right. However, I wasn’t eating often enough. He taught me about macros and how important nutrition is to your health. That’s when I truly started to see GAINS:-). He transformed my body to a place I never thought I would be. I did EXACTLY what he told me to do. Nutrition, weights, cardio and more cardio! I wasn’t focused on what anyone else was doing. My focus was on bringing MY best package to the stage. I did and I won 1st in both my categories!

Dewayne is nothing less than AMAZING as my nutritionist and trainer as well as a professional bodybuilder.

Of course there is always room for improvement, but he has sculpted my body to perfection. I have never looked better. He always reminds me that it is not about chasing a trophy at a fitness show, but it is about looking better than you ever have before.

And my before was an overweight Engineer and single mom who enjoyed way too many social events that included margaritas and poor food choices. For my 5’1” frame I was easily on my way to 200Lbs until I saw a picture of myself at a friend’s wedding. The picture was indication that I wasn’t taking care of my health. I began making lifestyle changes and was able to lose 40lbs on my own. I wanted to continue on my fitness journey and I decided to become a group exercise instructor. After 2 years of teaching classes, I wanted to challenge my fitness again and hire personal trainer to prepare me for a bikini competition.

I was first introduced to the “Texas Titan” and the Musclemania organization by a co-worker. In the first phone conversation I had with Dewayne, I told him “I don’t want to lose my ass and I don’t want to look like a dude.” He assured me with natural bodybuilding that I would not look like a dude and that I would improve my overall physique for the better. As I stated earlier, at this point I already dropped 40 lbs on my own and been a 24 hour fitness group instructor. I knew I wanted to take my fitness to the next level, and I thought I was in excellent shape—the key word being “thought”. Dewayne recalls that I had a slight “cockiness in our first meeting. All that I can remember is that the day after my first workout with him; I couldn’t feel the lower half of my body. That one session had obliterated my arrogance, along with my thighs, and my hamstrings. I believed at that moment he would improve my overall shape for the best.

For my first show I was amazed by the results. I remember the first two months of training, my weight didn’t change much (varied 3-5 lbs), but my body began to look completely different. I lost inches and built new muscle. Then when he created my meal plan, my weight began to drop immediately. In the first week of eating clean, I lost 7 lbs! My first bikini fitness competition occurred on May 19th, 2012 and I kept a log of my progress every day until the day I stepped onto the stage and I placed in the TOP 5! I walked away with some hardware, but my new body was my ultimate trophy and I have Mr. Malone to thank for that.

I also give Dewayne credit for educating me in the art of strength training. He is a GREAT fitness mentor. I have tried to absorb as much as possible of the information that he has shared during our sessions. He emphasizes “feeling” in every exercise. Meaning, that I need to feel what muscle is being worked. “If you don’t feel it, you ain’t working it.” Fast forward four years later, I am still training with the man they refer to as the Texas Titan.

I have been fortunate to share my fitness stories in various news media outlets like Fit2Figures, Natural Muscles Oxygen, Muscle & Fitness Hers, Daily Mail, ABC13 and FOX26. Using Dewayne as a mentor, I also became a certified Personal Trainer and started my own fitness brand Fitter Smiles.

I started training with Dewayne Malone in the Spring of 2013. Before coming to Dewayne, I would run endless numbers of miles and my eating was erratic; I suffered from an eating disorder as well as had no idea what having a balanced meal plan looked like.

I came to him 8 weeks out from a show and wanting to compete in Figure at the 2013 Lonestar competition in Galveston. Even with only 8 weeks to prepare, Dewayne got me into the best shape of my life at that point in time. He taught me so much about proper form and technique during training and how nutrition can help change your body! Training didn’t end in May, we kept training and kept preparing for upcoming shows. Dewayne kept pushing me out of my comfort zone and teaching me; everyday. Throughout my time with him I have been able to start my own Personal Training company, quit a dead end job and help others transform their own lives! In November of 2014, Dewayne led me to become the first ever Muscle-mania Woman’s Physique World Champion and become a Pro-Qualified athlete. I look forward to seeing what changes we can make in the future when I make my Pro-Debut!

I have learned more from Dewayne than any of my undergrad, graduate school, and personal training courses that I have taken. His knowledge of fitness is astounding! I was very lucky to actually be able to work for Dewayne with his company Against All Odds Fitness. During my time there, Dewayne taught me the ins and outs of the business. His training and mentorship of me lead me to create my own successful personal training company. Working/training for Dewayne was/is this best learning experience I have ever had, he is continually teaching and mentoring me to become not only a better competitor, but a better trainer as well.

Before I met Dewayne I had no idea how strong I could be.

For many years I had been an athlete and personal trainer but even though I was very competitive I felt that as I became older so my strength would deteriorate.

Dewayne showed me how wrong I was. We have been working out together for about six years. When I started I could lift a 30lb dumbbell in each hand and lying on a bench I could press them up about 10-12 times. As a part of our chest exercises a few weeks ago I pressed 80lb in each hand. Another example of how my strength has increased through Dewayne’s guidance was when we were doing inclined presses on a Hammer Strength machine. I came to Dewayne originally very happy to press 135lb. During our most recent workout after several sets of other exercises I pressed 310lb.

Not only has my upper body strength increased my lower body has as well. I have increased my leg strength from being able to do a leg press of 175lb to being able to leg press 425lb 15 times.

Dewayne has focused on my form so I get the greatest benefit from the exercise. We rarely go after the ‘see how much you can lift’ effort. Under his nutrition guidance my body fat is consistently at 10% or less and my weight stays around 178lb. No bad at 5ft 10 ½. I forgot to mention I will be 79 next year.

| “Age is not, and should not be, a limiting factor”

My advice to anyone, male or female, is get into an exercise program if you are not in one now. Age is not, and should not be, a limiting factor. You can take care of yourself at any age and you will probably be sick less often and live longer.

If only I had known Dewayne and all the great health and strength benefits from sensible training I would have been a far better runner.

I work for Cy fair ISD’s before and after school program. I met Tiffany Flora A few years ago at one of the childcare centers where her children attended. I watched Tiffany transform. I wanted to know her secret. I heard Tiffany was doing a boot camp and I was interested in getting in losing weight and getting healthy. The first day of boot camp was brutal. My name is Silvia Martinez I’m 28 years old and I’m a police officer with the City of Houston Police Department. I have always been involved in a sport or have partaken in some sort of physical activity like marathon running, swimming etc which kept me relatively “in shape” or so I thought.

I began working with my trainer Dewayne Malone in 2013, when I decided I wanted to compete in my first figure show that fall. Dewayne educated me and guided me in what it took to be a fitness competitor as well as an over all healthier woman in my everyday life. I learned that my diet was actually pretty terrible. I ate very infrequent unbalanced meals, I drank maybe a little more than I should have, and I really was not getting the nutrients and calories that I needed to truly be healthy and in the best shape I could be in. Dewayne designed a diet that I could follow year round. I hardly call it a “diet” because It really is a clean eating plan I could simply follow for the rest of my life (which also allows one cheat day a week where I can choose to indulge a little bit in richer, higher calorie foods) I eat the right amount of proteins,carbs,and fats designed specifically for my person, lifestyle and workout regime.

I ate a lot of good food, lifted with Dewayne and incorporated cardio in my training, gained awesome muscle and got into the BEST shape I have ever been in and placed 5th in my first figure show in Texas 2013, 1st in my second figure show in Texas 2014, and traveled to Paris, France where I earned my figure Pro card and took first in the model division 2014. This journey was hard work and it took a lot of dedication and drive but I cant say I could have done it without the help and guidance from the guy who designed my diets and my workouts and was with me every step of the way Dewayne and the support of all my family and friends!
